This year, 2011, will mark the 11th Anniversary of the formation of the Fran Delaney Foundation and our Annual Golf Tournament at Sky Meadow Country Club. It also marks the sixth anniversary of Fran’s passing.
When Fran was diagnosed with ALS eleven years ago, he, his family and friends decided to fight back by raising awareness and $1 million to find a cure. The goal was surpassed and currently over $2.3 million has been raised! We are looking forward to reaching $3 million and with your help we will succeed.
You should be happy to learn that important progress has been made in ALS research which has moved from a bleak prognosis eleven years ago to one of hope for the 30,000 ALS patients battling this terrible disease. Currently there are two therapies in or poised to be in clinical trial that your support helped make possible. This could not have been accomplished without your generosity and compassion. As always, we will continue to move forward with the knowledge that so many patients and ALS families deeply appreciate all that has been done in their name.
Once again we are asking your support for the Fran Delaney Foundation Sky Meadow Country Club Annual Golf Tournament. This Tournament is the premier golfing event in the Northeast providing much-needed funds for the research to find a cure for ALS.
There is an important change in this year’s event. After much discussion, the tournament committee has decided to scale back to one afternoon shotgun instead of the two shotguns we have conducted in the past.
However, our Tournament Committee continues to work planning a very rewarding day for this year’s event. Once again Sky Meadow Country Club will be our host and will be working hard to insure that the course is in great shape for all our golfers and guests.
The enclosed information package contains registration forms as well as information for event sponsorship opportunities for those who wish to be more involved in our fight. So put together your foursome early and submit your check to secure a spot for Monday, August 15, 2011 at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, NH.
