Sky Meadow Golf Event Raises $90,000 for ALS Research

On Monday, August 23rd, 2004 our Fran Delaney Foundation all volunteer team planned, organized and managed a very special day! More than 208 golfers teed it up at our fourth annual Sky Meadow Golf Tournament to raise awareness and money for ALS research. We raised more than $90,000! The day included golf, a silent auction that raised more than $11,000, lunch, dinner and some special messages about our fight to put an end to Lou Gehrig's Disease, also known as ALS.

I want to take a moment to thank the all volunteer Fran Delaney Foundation Sky Meadow Event Team. It is simply amazing that year after year, somehow, this Team continues to make this event even more special. The golf, the beautiful setting, the silent auction, the raffle, the dinner and the formal program were all first class! I know people that joined us could feel that this was a very special day. They had fun, they enjoyed the golf, they picked up some great items at the silent auction and felt they were contributing to a very special cause. The planning, the organization, the upbeat attitude and the passion from our FDF volunteer team really set the tone for this simply outstanding day.

I want to offer some special thanks to Lou Kobbs, Tim Hines, Andy Starr, Jim Malanson, Jay Perry, Lenny Baptiste, Mike Cirrone and Michelle LaBelle for their leadership. We also thank the more than 40 volunteers that donated their precious time to make this event a great success.

I also want to thank the many sponsors that helped to support this event. Special thanks to our corporate sponsors at Totaltec, SkillSoft, SDI, Amherst Technologies and Lexington Toyota. I also want to thank my good friend John McDonald at John McDonald Constructive Consulting and Troy Harney. We also appreciate the support from our many Hole Sponsors that helped make this a successful fundraising event.

We also want the 208 golfers who joined us to know how much we appreciate their support. Each of you has helped to make a difference in our fight to put an end to this devastating disease.

Thanks and warm regards,

Fran Delaney
